Elsmere, Ky.  ->Fort Wright, Ky.  ->Cincinnati, Oh. ->Columbus, Oh.

I had a semi-relaxing weekend.  I went to Northern Kentucky  to try to help my dad get his computer running.  I attempted to install Windows XP 4 times in a 1 day period.  Received several different errors. One was a memory management error with a blue screen of death.  There was a “out of the box” error saying XP couldn’t load onto the hardware.  While formating the hard drive, there was a grinding noise between the 1 and 2% completion bar.  So coming back, I brought his computer system with me.  Hopefully I can track the hardware problem down.

Flamebroiled Day

I’ve been meaning to relate this funny incident for a few weeks now, but things have been crazy at work and I haven’t been feeling too well either.  Now seems like a good time.

I was grilling at home around the 1st week of June and unknown to me, Carrie switched the grade of meat on me with the cheap stuff.  No problem, just no heads up.   Well within 5 minutes I had 4 foot flames on the grill and  the burgers had shrunk to smaller than a hockey puck!  Any attemt to move them resulted in almost lost eyebrows or arm hair.  I was laugh so hard I was almost doubled over because of the reactions of the kids.

Next we were inside with our burgers ready to be eaten.  Carrie had made baked potatos for everyone.  She did, however forget she had hers still cooking in the microwave.  All I remember was seeing flames shooting out of the potato and smoke rolling out of the microwave!  To this day we can still smell the smoke and we also get a good laugh when we talk about.

Boring  (I know) for some people, but it was something funny I thought I’d share.  Besides, I promised a co-worker I’d post it.

Awesome Pizza Parlor

The family and I went out to dinner yesterday.  We went to for pizza at “New Yorker Pizzaria” in Pickerington, OH.  I can not rave enough about this place!

This was the 2nd time we’ve been there.  Both times service and food were top notch.  We had the meat lover’s pizza and an italian hoagie and drink.  The kids had individual slices with cookies and drink. Portion sizes were tremendous. A very good value.  After we ate the kids went and watched the cooks make the pizzas.  They saw them tossing the dough, putting on the toppings and put the pizzas in the oven.

While we were there, we watched OSU beat Georgetown University making it into the final two.  This was the first time since 1962 that the Bucks made it that far.  Go Bucks!  The strange thing, though, is we were the only patrons in the place and it had a large screen tv, and two smaller tvs in the corners.  We figured the place would be jammed pack.  Good for us.

Finally we had dessert.  Carrie had spumoni ice cream and I had the chocolate volcano cake.  Yeah, yeah.  I know what you’re thinking. I’m diabetic, why would I eat that.  I can only answer, because it looked and tasted so good!

If you are ever in the area, and hungry, I highly recommend this place.
